Easter in New Jersey

It had been a year since I'd visited the family in NJ, so I felt we were due for a trip. I knew if we didn't go soon, it would be a while since Stella is due in July. So, Nonno and I (and Sam) decided to go over Easter weekend so we could spend the holiday there with family. Unfortunately, Justin (daddy) and Nonna could not join us because of work. But, we made the best of it and had a great time visiting with everyone!

This is at DFW airport, getting some breakfast before our flight to NJ! Sam is drinking his OJ like a big boy :)

Sam wasn't a big fan of the pack n' play the first night, so I brought him in bed with me. Little did I know how much space the little guy would take up!

We went to church on Easter Sunday, and I was just keeping my fingers crossed that Sam would behave. As soon as we were seated, a woman (who stood about 10 feet away from us) began singing a beautiful hymn. Of course, my friendly little bug had to greet her and began screaming "HI!!" repeatedly....getting louder each time, as she could not respond since she was clearly busy singing. Although it seemed to entertain those around us, I went ahead and took Sam outside...where we spent the entire hour of mass. He enjoyed himself though, playing in the grass and looking for Easter eggs.

The best part of the trip, of course, was visiting and spending time with family and friends! I even got to have lunch with some friends I haven't seen since middle school (and their children), which was really fun! And Sam got to play with his cousins, which he definitely enjoyed.

Life's a "beach" :)

I took Sam to this fake "beach" like area at Fairview this week, thinking he might think it was fun. Apparently, this was heaven for him! He played and played in that sand for hours, and cried when it was time to go. Needless to say, we went back two more times this week and spent much of the afternoon there playing. Hopefully, we can take him to the beach at least once before Stella's arrival!

I should have known he'd love the sand, since this is his
favorite place to play at home :)

And here he is at the "beach"....

Playing with his buddies, Benjamin and Bryce...

I'm sure we will be spending many more afternoons here :)

SWJ - Dec '09 to present

Up until now, I have kept a journal that I wrote in weekly (ok, sometimes monthly) for my sweet Sam. My dear friend, Hedy, convinced me that starting a blog would be much for efficient (and 2011) now that we are expecting another child. Since Sam is already 15 months old now, I thought I'd post some pictures - from present back to December of '09 (when Sam was born). At least that way I will feel like we are up to date :)
